Training Types
Competition Training
Whatever your competitive ambition, whether it be to ride in your first Dressage test or to move up through the Eventing levels, you'll want the input of eyes and training from the ground. The journey to success begins with structured goals tailored to suit the individual horse and rider. With me you'll receive a training plan factoring horse and rider fitness, development and education personalised to suit your target.
Developing the Equine Athlete
My methods and principles as a coach are fundamentally the same whether I'm giving someone their first ever riding lesson, or coaching a rider to produce a young horse. The focus is always on ethical equine training. Whatever your ability or your horses stage of development, the principles of schooling horses are consistent. Developing rider ability to implement tried and tested, industry recognised methods that the horse can understand and then building on that skillset as physicality in horse & rider develop.
Building Confidence
This is the most common reason why riders approach a coach for support. It's important to begin with that, because all too often it can feel incredibly lonely when a crisis of confidence happens. It is much more common than you think!
I've been helping riders to feel happier in the saddle for over 20 years. After establishing the root cause, the key is small, manageable steps promoting positivity and building on your abilities using exercises both ridden and from the ground.
Rehabilitation, Re-schooling & Problem Solving
Inevitably we will all encounter a bump in the road or barrier to our progress along our journeys with our horses.
I offer full rehabilitation support including tailored programmes to include exercises and fitness plans specific to the needs of each horse recovering from injury, illness or down time.
Re-schooling horses in a new discipline or problem solving involves clear training steps and education. Using ethical, step by step training principles, you can re-educate and re-build confidence and understanding to create a healthy, happy horse and rider dynamic.
